Like so many other industries, the book industry is dominated by large chain stores. This is not necessarily a bad thing since it allows them to sell books for lower prices, have wider selections and multiple locations for the public’s convenience. Such chain’s as Borders, and Barnes & Nobles have a wide range of books including audio books, graphic novels, and even college textbooks for the back to school season at discounted prices. On the other hand, independent books stores have there own advantages. Such stores tend to have somewhat more knowledgeable employees and sometimes carry books that cannot be found in the major chains. Some, such as the Book Revue in Huntington Village will purchase used books as well. No matter what your literary needs, Long Island is sure to offer you the store you are looking for. |
