Reverse Mortgages for Senior Citizens
A National Council on Aging
the recent report
estimates that 13.2 million households with at least one resident age 62 and older are candidates to use a reverse mortgage if necessary to pay for home care and support. A reverse mortgage is a loan against the value of your home that you will not have to pay back as long as your live in your home. The loan does not become payable until you sell the home, permanently move out of the home or until you die. This allows individuals in need of money for medical or other expenses to turn the value of their home to cash without moving or having to repay a loan on a monthly basis. We also recommend that if you are considering a reverse mortgage, you also visit the AARP reverse mortgage website
for more information on reverse mortgages.
