690-acre preserve, started in 1887 by Bayard Cutting, includes nature wals and flower displays; mansion-museum contains Indian art crafts and display of stuffed birds, there is food service, hiking trails and guided tours (available by reservation)

The Bayport Aerodrome Society is a membership organizaion formed in 1972 for the primary purpose of preserving the style and tradition of aviation in the early 20th century.

Occupying the north wing of the Bayville Village Hall complex, this museum has been dedicated to the people of Bayville & ventures to preserve the heritage of the area, maintaining collections of clothing, tools, papers, etc. from times gone by in Bayville. The museum is run by the Incorporated Village of Bayville & admission is free of charge.

A visit ot the museum complex offers exhibits on sea captains, ship building, whaling, market gunning, decoys, Elmer Sperry inventions and everyday life in the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries.

Long Island's landmark & a designated historic site & living museum, you may see it on Long Island postcards. It is a building that is a .....big duck! restored to its original 1930's condition & offering 'duckbilia'.

Free guided tours of the grounds are held every Saturday at 1pm, including the house, gristmill, carriage house, and miller's house.

Restored 1889 Center Moriches firehouse with two floors of memorabilia

Originally built in 1819, the House now serves as a headquarters for the Smithtown Historical Society and a repository for documents and books relating to the history of Smithtown. The house is filled with 17th and 18th century furniture, paintings and documents.

Admission is $2 for adults, $1 for children, and members free.

The DNA Learning Center (DNALC) is the world's first science center devoted entirely to public genetics education and is an operating unit of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. location

The museum's lighthouse exhibit features two rare lighthouse lenses from Little Gull and Plum Island. Other artifacts include ship models and tools, memorabilia form the 1930s America's Cup yacht.

The lighthouse was built in 1857 & is one of Southold's 7 existing lighthouses with the tower standing on Cliff Lot, part of Barnabas Horton's original 1640 land grant. Created by Isamu Noguchi (1904-1988), The Noguchi Museum opened in 1985, presenting a comprehensive collection of the artist's works in stone, metal, wood, and clay, as well as models for public projects and gardens, dance sets, and Akari Light Sculptures.

The Islip Art Museum is the leading exhibition space for contemporary art on Long Island. Changing exhibits focus on themes and concerns of the current art world.

Built in 1916, two-room jail has police memorabilia from America and Europe.

The house is furnished to the 1793 inventory of John Lloyd II. Lloyd Manor was the home of Jupiter Hammon, a slave who became the first published black poet.

Contains a collection of period postcards, maps, Long Island Indian artifacts and local family memorabilia form the Lake Ronkonkoma area. Offers the visitor a glimpse of the changing scenes.

The Museum, once the Bank of Amityville, serves as the attractive home for memorabilia of Amityville's past. Here this material is collected, preserved & exhibited.

Maintained by Sarisohn Family in New York, this museum presents the largest collection in the United States with 673 sets displayed in their Long Island home.

This museum began in 1939 as the Suffolk Museum. From the 1950s to the 1980s, several historic buildings were moved to the property and the art, history and carriage museums were opened.

Also called Eastville Heritage House, the 1-story restored Sears-Roebuck Mail Order House has letters, journals, photos, furniture and other items since the 1800s. Exhibits rotate twice a year. operated by the Eastville Community Historical Society.

An 1890 Gothic chapel is from the Manhanset House hotel. It features the exhibit "People of the Dancing Meadow" and hands-on children's activities.
