You know you love Dinosaur eggs, the show starts tomorrow

Filed under: Community Events Long Island, Hamptons NY — admin @ 12:02 pm

This is a great short Long Island day trip for the whole family. Well, maybe you won’t spend the whole day at the Dinosaur Walk Museum but we know your kids love these creatures and you do too.  I mean what kid growing up on Long Island in the past 30 years did not play with little plastic dinosaurs.  Of course in the past few years your kids can own rather big toy dinosaurs, almost big enough to ride. Some are remote radion controlled now.  Nothing beats the real thing though.

Tomorrow a special exhibt, “Ancient Eggs”,  at the Dinosaur Walk Museum in Riverhead NY opens.  It runs each day from 10 AM to 5 PM, May 25th to Labor Day. Yes, we are talking real dinosaur eggs.   They are fossilized.

OK, so you won’t spend a whole day here but its a great excursive to before or after shopping at the Tanger Outlets, only three miles away.  The Atlantis Aquarium is only one block away.

Which real estate search engine best for Long Island?

Filed under: Long Island Homes, Hamptons NY — admin @ 1:58 pm

Recently the Hamptons Real Estate Blog posted a commentary on the leading real estate search engines, “Where Trulia Went Right…and where Zillow went wrong”.  Only one main point was made - Trulia.com is better than Zillow.com because Trulia has developed close relationships with real estate industry executives.  Michael Daly, a respected real estate professional in the east end of Long Island, complained in his blog post that Zillow’s business model was aimed at forming “direct realtionships with the consumer that supercedethe Realtor.” Well, we are not about to pick sides in this fight just yet.  Maybe from the point of view of many home buyers and sellers on Long Island each of these online real estate tools has a unique advantage for their local housing market.  So we’d like to hear from you about these Web 2.0 search tools.  We plan to write our own reviews of each of them over the next few weeks.  If you have not explored them and you are looking to buy a home, then by all means get busy.  You get set up a search feed using the latest version of RSS and get regular updates on housing coming on the market in any town on Long Island.

If you are looking for real estate agents on LongIsland NY then our local buisness listings are a useful place to start.  At this time of the year the Hamptons rental market is still hot and not all the good sumer rentals are gone yet.

We have organized our real estate agent and realtor listings by township in our directory for eastern Long Island: Real Estate Agencies in Southampton and East Hampton Township. Southampton and East Hampton Township Commercial Real Estate. Vacation homes and summer rentals in the Hamptons NY
