MGMT @ McCarren Park Pool
Who Is MGMT? Find out at the McCarren Park Pool in Brooklyn, Sunday July 27th at 2pm. The band will be playing with Black Moth Super Rainbow and the Ting Tings till dusk. If there’s one show to be excited for right now, I’d have to say this will be a blockbuster.
MGMT, or The Management as they were formally known as, is the band to check out this summer. Specially at a pool party!
Their hit single Time to Pretend has a certain musical euphoria that just can’t be explained. The interrogative lyrics mixed with uplifting melodies shoot your emotions into a place you’ve never been to before. My feet want to move and dance, but my mind makes me sit and ponder. What are they trying to say, what’s the message, where’s the roadmap????
After many moons of meditating these questions, here’s the answer: Forget your worries, forget the debt, let go of the existing and crawl into the sanctuary MGMT designs while engulfing yourself with their live show. You don’t listen to the music, you experience it. You have to let yourself lose, stop thinking, and appreciate the time spent in their presence.
Pool parties aren’t meant to be thinking quests! They are fun and so is MGMT. Leave the life pondering at home and take a vacation. This is gonna be a fun show, with an awesome band, at a great venue. And you know what? If you still don’t feel like going, it won’t cost you anything. This performance is free to the world.
